"Ridge to Reef" recap

April was the creator of the Rotary "Ridge to Reef" clean up day on April 24.  Clubs from all across the state selected sites to clean up from rubbish and microplastics.

April Bullis is a student of sustainability, who is passionate about environmental stewardship, solutions to social issues, and promoting eco-consciousness. A Charter Member of the Eco Rotary Club of Kaka'ako with nearly a decade of experience in social enterprise management and directing operations for nonprofits, April now brings her leadership skills, attention to detail, and focus on efficiency and conservation to the Pono Home team. A recipient of the 2019 Good Neighbor Award for her work at the Honolulu Habitat for Humanity ReStore, April's previous nonprofit work also played a key role for the inspiration and development of the EmPOWER Hawai'i Project with Hawai'i Energy; focused on equipping local nonprofits in their efforts to save energy and save money. In her current position as Oahu Service Manager with Pono Home, April is excited to educate and empower individuals across Oahu with access to resources and information to take control of their energy usage, reduce their reliance on fossil fuels, and to live healthier, live greener, and to save money.

Whenever possible, April enjoys traveling; organizing items using the KonMari method; supporting local farmers; volunteering; and experimenting with new recipes to share with family and friends. Born and raised in the countryside of Upstate NY April was inspired by a “minimal-ish” lifestyle and now enjoys living off-the-grid on the North Shore of O'ahu since 2015.
