Five members from our club participated in the 29th The Hawaii Bicycling League’s (HPB’s)Annual Metric Century (62 mile) fundraiser, fun bike race by sponsoring one of the aid stations, located at the Waialua District Park.
President Keoni Ahlo, President Elect (PE) Jackie Barnes, Cross Crabbe, Derek Conselva, and PP Geoff Horvath staffed the aid station, providing assistance!
We had to set up tents, tables, bike racks, a medical cot, 6-gal jugs of Gatorade and water, and snacks of all kinds.
We had a blast meeting some very nice people and renewing old friendships! We even served some Rotarians from here and the mainland!
There were 700+ riders from young to senior (some in their 80’s) riders. Our station was very popular and most of the riders made a pit stop at our aid station. Music and bubbles were provided. Plan on participating next year!
