RC of Wahiawa-Waialua participated in this year's Honolulu Bicycling League's 2024 Hale'Iwa Metric Century, as an aid station, for the fourth year! It was a fun event, meeting bike enthusiasts, from little ones to seniors. A great group of people! We were assisted by medical staff, two, and a first class bike repair mechanic and his family!
Bike riders could opt for a 5K ride (family friendly), 12K, 30K and 50-100K.
Thanks to the fantastic team of President Marie Abatayo, Past President Doc William McKenzie, Mark Anthony Clemente, Chris and Pat Campiasno, Joel Oswald, and Aid Station Captain, Past President Geoff Horvath.
We provided Gator Aid, fresh, sweet oranges, gram crackers with peanut butter, energy bars, and delicious bananas, along with cold water.
We were fortunate in having a repair mechanic on site as a few bikers had to use their services. Thank goodness, we didn't need the medical staff.
